Pulsable pre-filter medium
- for extended service life of pulse filters
: Poret®-Wrap

As a unique pre-filter medium, Poret® has already proven itself in the field of supply air filtration for gas turbines and compressors. But how does Poret® perform with a pulse filtration system?

The new Poret® Wrap increases the dust holding capacity of your pulse filters by up to 50% and can thus contribute to an extended operating time of a pulse filtration system. The use of the pre-filter wrap hardly leads to an increase in the initial pressure difference. Rather, the Poret® wrap acts as a protective shield for a more stable pressure difference of the pulse filter system and thus secures your system operation. Because the key feature is: The Poret® Wrap is the only pre-filter media for pulse filters that can be effectively pulsed!

Pulse Filter plus Poret Wrap

Unlike synthetic fibre media, the open-pored structure of the Poret® Wrap remains intact even during pulsing and also in high humidity. This always enables stable filter efficiency and minimal pressure drop. In addition, the pre-filter wrap for pulse filters enables sustainable use, as the Poret® pre-filter media is washable and thus reusable.

Characteristics of Poret® Wrap

  • Pulsable pre-filter medium for pulse filters
  • Operational even at 100 % relative humidity
  • Washable and reusable
  • Stable filter efficiency even after washing thanks to stable pore structure
  • Available for all pulse filter variants

Increased dust holding capacity of a pulse filter

The following diagram compares the dust holding capacity of a pulse filter without pre-filter media, with a synthetic pre-filter medium as well as with the Poret® Wrap. The dust loading was performed without a pulse effect up to a final pressure difference of 300 Pa.

While the use of a synthetic pre-filter media hardly contributes to a higher dust holding capacity of a pulse filter, the dust holding capacity increased by up to 50 % with the Poret® Wrap at an identical final pressure difference.

With the Poret® Wrap the dust holding capacity increases by up to 50 %.

More stable pressure difference of a pulse filter

The following diagram shows the difference in the initial pressure difference of a pulse filter with and without the Poret® Wrap. At a typical volume flow of 2500 m³/h for control mode, the initial pressure difference of the pulse filter with and without the Poret® Wrap is almost congruent.

As a pre-filter media, the Poret® Wrap contributes only minimally to a higher initial pressure difference of the pulse filters. Rather, the wrap ensures a more stable pressure difference during operation in order to realise an extended service life of the pulse filters and thus a low maintenance requirement.

Poret® Wrap contributes only minimally to a higher initial pressure difference of the pulse filters.

Service life extension of pulse filters

Synthetic pre-filter media are not suitable for pulse filtration system because the fibre structure is quickly blocked by coarse particles, which in turn can hardly be shaken off even by a pulse effect. In contrast, the Poret® Wrap also excels in the pulse effect as an optimal protective shield fo the pulse filter. As the following video shows, coarse particles are successfully separated by the Poret® Wrap before they reach the pulse filter. During the pulse effect, the separated dust particles are in turn shaken off smoothly.

Washable with constant filter efficiency

Even under high loads of dust particles, the open-cell pore structure of Poret® remains permanently open. Dust accumulates inside the pore structure, so there is no blocking of the media by the particles, as it is the case with synthetic fibres within a very short time.

The Poret® Wrap can be easily washed, so it will be as clean as before usage. Thus, it is reusable for multiple times. Even after washing, the open-cell pore structure of the prefilter wrap remains intact and always exhibits stable filter efficiency and consistent initial pressure drop.
